EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Many years ago Rev. George Wollenberg, former president of the Montana District, LCMS, sat at a table at the Holiday Inn next to the convention center in St. Louis, and begged me to do an on-line Grandpa Jim Sunday School for his grandson who lived out on a ranch with his dad and could never get to Sunday School.
"Jim," he said, "how are they supposed to learn about Jesus?" He then cried.
For many years that thought has been in the back of my mind and several weeks ago I did some Goggleing on Sunday school for Kids. What I found was only curriculum. Most of it was designed as an alternative to buying pre-printed stuff from companies such as Concordia Publishing House, most of it was evangelical decision based, and most of it was not "kid-friendly," meaning that parents had to buy something before the kid could be impacted by the Holy Spirit.
So, I thought to myself, it's about time to do what the Sainted George asked me to do in 1998. As a result, I have purchased TheFundaySchool.com and TheFundaySchool.org domain names.
I want to essentially do a multi-part 30-miinute Grandpa Jim program, very simple and low budget. Each weekly show will feature one of the great stories of the Bible. It will also feature some of Grandpa Jim’s friends, yet to be named or identified. In addition to that I would want to have .pdf documents that children could print for coloring, etc. I also want to have a 60 second video that kids can watch every morning to give them encouragement and something positive to start out the day with.
And it is not just for the kids out in the west who live on ranches. There are children all across America whose parents don't take them to Sunday school. What if we could create a "cult" (I love that concept) on YouTube? I would use the YouTube servers for all of the video items, which would include all of the Grandpa Jim song videos, and copy that would link to the "TheFundaySchool.org" web site. "One Day, Some Day, Fun Day School."
I've got the character, the music videos (and some new ones on the way), the production facility and gear. I’ve talked to a number of people who are very excited about this concept. They can see the void, understand the power of the web, and believe that children could be reached in a new and exciting way with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
