BACK TO HOME PAGE ~ BUFFALO DANCING STICK ~ PREHISTORIC BISON SKULL ~ BLACK BEAR MOUNT ~ AFRICAN SHIELD

On this site are some of my most prized treasures I have collected during the past 40 years. There comes a time when true friends must part company. I could have put these on E-Bay, but would much rather see them live out their history in the home of friends. CLICK the image to go to a page with a larger image and pricing information. While deer hunting in 1971 I found this prehistoric bison skull on the banks of the Niobrara River about 15 miles south of Merriman, NE. It had been washed out of the river by a late fall flood. I took it to Chadron State College, Chadron, NE and Larry Aganbrod, professor of archeology, dated it between 8,000 to 15,000 years old. The horn caps were purchased in 2006 from a store in Custer, SD. It is in excellent condition, and if you shake it hard enough you can still get sand out of it.

This black bear mount was purchased was purchased at The Emporium, Keystone, SD, in 1986. It is encircled with drift wood and mounted on a plywood back. It has hung both in my home and my office for many years.
